Recently, container water plants, custom-built for Thailand, were hoisted and installed at the XinJieYuan factory. And it has transported aboard an ocean-going vessel to Laem Chabang Port in Thailand.
We will roll out this equipment in Chonburi Province, part of Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor. In order to simultaneously purify drinking water for three local communities and produce pure water for production at two electronics factories. We expect the equipment to purify an average of 800 cubic meters of water daily. Because it is filling a critical gap in the region’s high-quality clean water supply.
What are container water plants?
The container water plants are integrated water treatment system that deeply integrates core water purification technologies. Such as reverse osmosis and EDI with a standard container. The equipment, housed in a standard sea transport container (such as a 20-foot), houses a complete water purification system.
Without requiring additional plant construction, it enables ready-to-ship, ready-to-use, high-quality purified water production. It is a typical implementation of the “modular and mobile” water treatment concept. The concept has adopted in recent years in the environmental protection field.
What are the container water plants customized in Thailand like?
This containerized water treatment plant is a customized solution for two core needs in Thailand. Domestic drinking water and industrial pure water production.
For domestic drinking water, the device integrates a triple system. Pretreatment (activated carbon and quartz sand filtration), deep purification (RO reverse osmosis membrane), and safety assurance (ultraviolet disinfection). It can treat even slightly contaminated local surface water sources (such as rivers and reservoirs). Thus it meets the Thailand’s drinking water standards (TISI 2260-2020). It also removes heavy metals, microorganisms, and residual chlorine, meeting the daily drinking water needs of over 5,000 residents.
For industrial use, the addition of an EDI (continuous electrolysis deionization) module further processes purified water into industrial pure water with a resistivity of ≥15MΩ·cm. This water meets the high-precision water needs of electronics factories. Such as chip cleaning and precision component cooling, and addresses the high cost of imported pure water for local factories.
Due to the sudden increase in water turbidity during the rainy season in eastern Thailand. We optimized the equipment’s automatic backwash system, adjusting the flushing frequency in real time based on the incoming water turbidity to prevent filter clogging. The client stated during acceptance that the containerized design reduced the equipment installation time from 30 days to 7 days compared to traditional split-type water purification equipment, significantly reducing factory downtime.
What do this container water plants mean to Thailand?
Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor is a key manufacturing base in Southeast Asia. However, water pollution and insufficient water purification facilities in some areas pose risks to residents’ drinking water safety and hinder the development of industries with high water quality requirements, such as electronics and food. For communities, these containerized water treatment plant can replace traditional simple water purification stations. It allows residents to drink tap water directly, reducing the use of approximately 200,000 bottles of plastic water annually. For factories, producing their own industrial pure water can reduce water costs by 40% while also reducing the carbon emissions associated with transporting purchased purified water.
Based on the specific water sources in different regions of Thailand, we have launched a “localized R&D” program for water purification equipment. We will establish a parts warehouse in Thailand to provide 24-hour maintenance support, advancing China-Thailand water purification cooperation from “equipment export” to “technology co-development.”
With this batch of equipment expected to arrive in Thailand and begin operation in 12 days, Chinese water purification technology will once again inject momentum into China-Thailand cooperation on livelihoods and industrial collaboration, providing a replicable “container solution” for water resource security management in Southeast Asia.
