Brackish water is widely distributed in arid regions, coastal mudflats, and mining areas, with a salt content ranging from 1000 to 10000 mg/L. It contains a large amount of soluble salts, heavy metal ions, and other impurities. Therefore, direct use of brackish water would severely impact production efficiency and the ecological environment.

It covers optimized reverse osmosis and electro-deionization, enabling customized solutions for water with varying salinity levels. Among these, the optimized reverse osmosis process based on our independently developed “WPS Intelligent Water Purification System” exhibits particularly outstanding performance.

By upgrading and customizing semi-permeable membrane elements, combined with a three-stage pretreatment process of quartz sand filtration + activated carbon adsorption + 5μm precision filtration, we efficiently remove suspended solids and colloidal impurities, avoiding membrane fouling problems at the source. The high-pressure system adopts intelligent variable frequency technology. Beacuse, it precisely controls operating pressure between 1.6–4.2 MPa, cuts energy consumption to as low as 0.9–2.1 kWh per ton of water, and consistently maintains a salt removal rate of 91%–98%. The salinity of the desalinated water is ≤500mg/L, fully complying with the GB 5749-2022 water quality standard.

Desalination water treatment system
For brackish water applications with low to medium salinity, we employ a desalination membrane separation core principle combined with a highly efficient pretreatment process. This eliminates the need for chemical regenerators and effectively removes salt and trace impurities from the water, producing effluent that meets the reuse requirements of various scenarios. Simultaneously, our self-developed intelligent operation and maintenance module monitors membrane operation in real time, effectively inhibiting membrane surface scaling and extending the lifespan of core membrane elements to 4.5-6.5 years.
This desalination technology exhibits excellent energy consumption control, consuming only 1.1-2.2 kWh per ton of water, resulting in low operating costs. So it is particularly suitable for applications such as agricultural irrigation and industrial flushing, where water quality requirements and energy consumption control are crucial, enabling the efficient utilization of brackish water resources.

What are the advantages of a desalination plant having its own facilities?
The company’s production base is located in Panyu District, Guangzhou, covering an area of over 1,800 square meters. It is equipped with standardized intelligent production workshops and precision processing production lines, focusing on the manufacturing of special mechanical equipment for water resources and core water purification devices. The annual production capacity can reach more than 50 units of core equipment for brackish water desalination.

We have established a complete industrial chain system, from core component processing to whole-plant integration. For example, key components such as reverse osmosis membrane modules and variable frequency high-pressure pumps are all produced and rigorously tested in-house. Case 1: Brackish water with a salt content > 5800 mg/L
In an agricultural park project in northwestern Algeria, the local arid climate resulted in groundwater salinity reaching 5800 mg/L, with high concentrations of calcium and magnesium ions, severely restricting irrigation water supply. We first used multi-media filtration to remove suspended impurities and chemical softening to reduce calcium and magnesium ion content and avoid scaling risks. Then, an optimized nanofiltration/reverse osmosis membrane system was used for pressurized permeation to remove salt, achieving highly efficient purification. Finally, the salinity of the produced water was stably reduced to below 350 mg/L, fully meeting the irrigation needs of fruits and vegetables and the park’s domestic water requirements.

Case 2: Brackish water with a salt content > 9200 mg/L
In a petrochemical park project in eastern Saudi Arabia, we actually adopted an upgraded reverse osmosis process for high-salt brackish water with a salt content of 9200 mg/L. And we combine this process with our self-produced high-efficiency semi-permeable membrane modules and variable frequency high-pressure pumps. The salt removal rate reached 97%, and the quality of the produced water met the process water standards of the petrochemical industry. Moreover, our system controls energy consumption per ton of water within 2.0 kWh, making it 18% more energy-efficient than existing equipment in the area.

The successful implementation of these overseas projects fully demonstrates the equipment’s adaptability to different climates and water quality scenarios, as well as the quality control of core equipment by its own factory.
